NEW DATE: McKinney's FIRST International Festival

April 27, 2019

Updated article reflects NEW date of Sat May 25

Inaugural McKinney International Festival set for May 25, 2019

I am so excited for Saturday May 25 because that's the day McKinney will have its very first International Festival with multicultural arts, music, and dance performances, and delicious food trucks! The FREE and family friendly festival will be held at Finch Park in downtown McKinney from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

WHERE

Finch Park is only about ½ a mile from the heart of downtown McKinney and has an awesome playground for kids (there are actually 2 playgrounds, one for big kids and one for the littles). There's even a splash pad where the kids can cool off and have a blast! It will be on during the festival so come prepared with a towel and change of clothes in the trunk ;)

FOOD & ENTERTAINMENT

The International Festival will showcase music and dance performances from around the world, as well as food trucks (such as Halal Mother Truckers and Chico Blanco Tex Mex, pictured below) and vendor booths. The festival is a family-friendly event for all ages. Check out the vendor booths for giveaways, a global coloring station for the kids, and lots more! The event will kick off with a Parade of Nations, followed by performances from various countries, including India, Poland, Germany, Pakistan, Spain, Brazil, and more.

SPONSORS

Eat, Drink & Be McKinney is proud to be a gold level sponsor of this festival and we are in great company: additional event sponsors include Fair and Square Imports; We Ate Well Food Tours; Imagine Parents In Partnership; and Explore Horizons, McKinney. We will have a booth at the festival and hope you stop by to see us there!

The Festival is funded in part by the McKinney Convention and Visitors Bureaus and the primary sponsor is the Imagine International Academy of North Texas, a K-12 public tuition-free charter school featuring the college preparatory International Baccalaureate curriculum with Spanish instruction beginning in Kindergarten, based in McKinney.
