If you're looking for a fresh new place to go for casual dining and a good drink, then look no further than Foxiis Restaurant and Grill which is bringing a unique twist to all your favorite foods and drinks in McKinney. This is the scratch kitchen’s third location, and they look to add to the already great dining culture in the area.

After working in the restaurant industry for several years owner, Juan Ruiz, a UT San Antonio International Business graduate, decided to team up with highly qualified chefs and open his own restaurant serving higher end, fresh foods that everyone could enjoy. It’s not your typical bar and won’t ever be opened to 2 am, yet it brings something fresh and exciting with an experience like none other.

“Foxiis Restaurant and Grill is definitely a place to enjoy the art that comes with dining and drinking,” Ruiz said. Foxiis Restaurant and Grill's easy to read menu is just the right size and offers a variety of items, from a fresh Cobb salad to steak frites, juicy hamburgers to shrimp tacos. Each hand crafted meal is made to order with the customer in mind using fresh ingredients presented with well executed style that will make you happy each time you dine. Ruiz says the most popular dish is the dish you order because each time you come in you will not be disappointed in the choice you made. Plus, the variety that they offer has something for every craving you might have, so you could go back and get the same thing or something new every time and never be disappointed.

The staff are very friendly and attentive, and they even make it a point to try and get to know their customers by name. Being a part of the customer service industry, you can tell they take it very seriously because they do a good job at being fun and personable as well as professional at all times. The food comes out hot and fresh in a timely manner, and the portions sizes were very impressive. With the whole experience, it's definitely a great value.

Happy hour at Foxiis Restaurant and Grill is from 3-7 Mondays through Fridays. Whether it is for a unique twist to favorites like the Old Fashioned or for something new and exciting like their famous Cucumber Sensation, which is made with jalapenos, cucumbers and mint, it is sure to be a great time with great tastes. During happy hour, they also have shareable appetizers for only $6 and other drink specials.

The atmosphere inthe restaurant is great for all types of meetings and greetings. Foxiis Restaurant and Grill is split in half by its bar with a cozy and comfortable section towards the back perfect for a casual lunch date or meeting, family outing or quiet solo dine. The front is a fun and exciting bar area which is ideal for friends to hang out, drink, eat, and enjoy the game and/or good music. With over 15 TVs circling the whole restaurant and music that can be heard from all areas of the restaurant and grill, you won’t ever get bored or run out of things to experience while dining and drinking. There also is an arcade-type game machine for customers of all ages to enjoy.

Foxiis Restaurant and Grill has been open for a total of 5 years, but the McKinney location has only been open for two months, and already it has local regulars. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, Aug. 23 at 4:30pm and all of McKinney is invited. Chloe Lewis is a senior majoring in theatrical performance and public relations at University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) with an anticipated graduation of December 2018. She has had the wonderful opportunity to advance her many communication skills by performing in a multitude of plays at UTA, being a studio intern for the Ryan Seacrest Foundations and the Red Balloon Network and being the On-Field Host for the Texas AirHogs in Grand Prairie.

At the young age of four, Lewis found her love for entertaining others and passion making others around her feel loved, welcomed and accepted. She plans to combine her love and passion with McKinney residents and guest through her entertaining and informational writings about hot spots in McKinney. Lewis, a former collegiate thrower, plans on pursuing a MBA in Marketing from UTA starting in January 2019.

Lewis grew up in the small town of Temple, Texas graduating from Belton High School with a respect for remembering where she came from which continues to help her get to where she is going by the grace of God.
